NEXT TOP MODEL COMPETITION!!
This competition is fashioned after the Next Top Model competition shows on television with pretty much the same format.
It is a chance to have some fun, show off your gorgeous Linnies, and hone your creative side!
9 weeks….10 contestants….who will be crowned LineolatedParakeet’s Next Top Model?

Prizes? Did I hear someone say what do we win? The Linnie who makes it to the very end wins: Bragging rights (ho hum), A Next Top Model signature to wear proudly (getting a bit better?) Oh yes, and a $20.00 gift certificate to a bird supply store! (the name of the store will be revealed at a later date..we have to have some surprises.

RULES:
Contestants will have 5 days after the challenge is posted to PM Julea (LinElated) a picture of their Linnie posing for the challenge (there will be a new challenge each week). Photoshopped or photos altered in any way are not allowed in the competition and will be disqualified… though props are encouraged.
Judges will then have the remaining 2 days to deliberate and decide which contestant will be eliminated for the week. The Linnie with the most nominations will be eliminated from the competition, but encouraged to still post pictures through the remainder of the competition for fun. Contestants who don’t PM me their photos by the end of the time constraints(5 days) will automatically forfeit their spot in the competition.

A new thread will be posted for each of the 9 weeks of the competition. I will post the contestants pictures on the thread as soon as I receive them. I will announce who is eliminated as well as the new challenge at the start of each week. I will also post the rules to refresh your memory at the start of each weeks thread.
Starting out, the producers of the show will be accepting applications (photos) for the competition and narrowing it down to the top 10. Once we have gone through all of the photos and have chosen our top ten line up the competition will officially begin! But for those of you who are not selected in the first round don’t lose heart! There is still a chance for you to be a contestant! Each week, just post a photo of your Linnie doing the challenge for the week, and post it in the special thread we will have for member’s of the public. Throughout the competition, Shandi (skthurley) and Julea (the producers) will pick 2 Linnies from the public to fill the spots of 2 eliminated contestants. One member of the public will be chosen after round 2 and the other will be chosen after round 4. (Tip: you will have a better chance of being chosen if you post photos of your bird doing the challenges consistently each week.)
NOTE: If you are an official contestant or a member of the public you MUST stick with the same bird that you originally start out with throughout the competition.

The DIVA card: So basically, if your Linnie is not co-operating with you for the challenge and you don’t know what to do, you can use your DIVA card. The DIVA card is “Linnies Need Pampering” so you would need to take a photo of your Linnie being pampered like a true DIVA and PM that to me in place of the challenge of the week.
Rules for the DIVA card:
It can only be used ONCE during the entire competition so use it only when you really have to!
The DIVA card can be used for any round except the final.

Submission Guidelines:
Applicants for the competition need only PM Julea (LinElated) any photo of their choice of their Linnie . There is no challenge for the initial submissions.
Only one submission per person.
Applicants must have their submissions PMed to me no later than….(Tuesday, April 7th!)
We will announce our Top Ten contestants on Thursday, April 9th and on Wednesday, April 15th we will announce the first weeks challenge and the offical competition will begin!
NOTE: Old (as in previously taken) photos of your bird will not be accepted. To make the challenges fair for everyone contestants must take new photos of their birds each week preforming the challenges. Producers and Judges are exempt from the competition.
This competition is a lot of fun and we hope to make it a huge success! It began (and is still going strong) on Talk Budgies in 2007 with it’s original creator and producer BUDGIETOM and has recently made its way to Talk Cockatiels and now Lineolatedparakeet.net
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the threads whether you are an official contestant, a member of the public, or a supportive forum member!
