Well summer is here and that means heat and humidity are in the air. We all know that Lineolated Parakeets love taking baths, whether it be diving in a bowl, being misted with a bottle, or even joining us in the shower.
So how often do you bathe your Lineolated Parakeet(s)? Make your choice in the poll below and share any stories you have in the comments section. ![]()

My 2 linnies absolutely LOVE their showers. I use a handheld sprayer that gives a fine mist. They get so silly, hang upside down, and open their wings. Both of them like to get sopping wet. If you have a reluctant bather, just get out the vacuum cleaner! The noise gets most birds in the mood for a bath. That is how I started both of my linnies bathing. Everyone should train their linnie for baths because it is SOOOOO important for their overall health.
Happy Misting!
My kids LOVE their bath!! As soon as they see the spray bottle, they rush over and start flapping like crazy!! No matter how soaked they get, whenever I stop they scream at me and flap around, mad that they’re not getting sprayed more! I can empty the whole bottle and get hand cramps misting them and they’re still not done!
Puck usually lets us know whenever he wants to be misted: he then walx on his rope, like he does every morning, and all of a sudden hangs from it, and starts flapping his wings. If we don’t react, he starts to sort of scream, so we know he wants his showertime.
It’s not up to us to make the misting-decision.
I just took my girls in the shower today!!! They’re so adorable when they get all excited to get SOAKED!
I have just rescued a Linnie and sprayed it for the first time a week after I received it. Although my new found friend has no feathers at the rear, he/she seemed to like it. We are both learning about one another and I hope that with time this little beauty will trust me in the same way as my other birds, who might I add, love bath-time!
