It is very touching hearing the parrot "speak" to us about his needs, so much more effective than putting it in third person. I learned some things, too.. like that fact that feathers won't barb properly if they become oily. It is also poignant how much they bond with us. I was especially moved by the last two sentences:When you took me home, you became my Flock Leader, indeed, my entire universe for life. I would hang the moon and stars for you if I could. And I feel even more guilty now that we have two holidays planned and can't take Millie.. going to the US. We're talking to Ineke about getting her a pal and hope that will help her (and us).
