House and Wilson are home!!! We had an hour and half drive and I figured they would be all scared and shy. Instead they were crawling over the cage, hanging upside down and getting into "fights" trying to get mommy's attention. Then they finally settled down for a nap. When we arrived home things changed though. They did the famous linnie "freeze." I had to get them out of the travel cage and into the big cage and at first they were terrified so left them alone for a bit. Then I came in and turned on the TV and started eating. Well that did it, now they are slowly exploring their new cage although I think they are both still tired. House has been rearranging some twigs I put in there too and just discovered the water dish, I think he will be in there bathing within the hour! Oh, and the breeder gave me a warning that they, especially House is going through his biting stage. I finally got to feel a real linnie bite and it isn't that bad at all. Wilson doesn't seem to bite though. My he is he a sweet little cuddle bug! ![]() Pictures to come, after they are feeling more at home!

A Linnie bite will get stronger soon enough. You just watch for the signs and never put your hands or fingers where not wanted.
It is a very exciting time for you and I cant wait for pictures of the cage and the birds. It will take them a while even weeks to really adjust. |

Thanks all! Last night I was cleaning their cage. I have an acrylic front cage so I have to open the whole front to clean it. Wilson looked like he was going to jump out so I put my finger under him and he stepped up. I put him on my shoulder while I cleaned and he preened my hair.
Next thing I knew House took a flying leap and landed on my chest and quickly climbed up to my shoulder to join Wilson. Of course he wasn't happy just being sweet like Wilson and tried to pierce my ear! Anyway, I had to reposition a perch so I put them on their playtop. House thought it was cool and was checking it out but Wilson froze. When I was done cleaning I had to put them back in the cage and they didn't like that much! What suprised me is House went back to the cage better than Wilson. Wilson started bluffing, raising his wings and acting like he was going to bite. I grabbed a perch which he quickly jumped on but the little turd tried to quickly scurry down the perch to bite me!!! Well I didn't allow it, I tipped the perch then he jumped off to the ground. I picked him back up from there and put him back in the cage.I need to readjust a few perches for them so hopefully they play nice today. They did find their sleepy hut and love all their toys. They settled down great with a sheet over them last night. Despite the bluffing we had a good day and I thought it was sweet they wanted to jump and play on me!

I will try to get pics tomorrow.
The household has been sick, including me and my hubby. We did have a few play sessions today and the boys are doing well warming up to me. Wilson, I think is down right in love with me, well except for my hands! When he gets on my shoulder he stares at me with such a sweet little face and gives kisses, and puts his beak on my lips and cheek. I didn't know birdie beaks were so warm! But if you have to get him off the shoulder that is when the trouble begins. I can get him out with a stick but he perfers to get off my shoulder by putting it up to the cage so he can hop off. Tonight he was broken hearted when I had to put him back for bedtime and gave me the "look" till I put the sheet over the cage. I heard their contact call too, when House wanted Wilson to come back into the cage. And then there is House. I am not trying to react except with a no and I either put him back in the cage or turn away from him. I think he might be mad about having his wings clipped last week. He likes to flap his wings and has jumped several times. I'm trying to get him to stay on his play gym. He really likes stepping up with the stick, which has been helpful because House tends to get in more places he shouldn't.I'll try for pics tomorrow.

House is a nippy one all right. They do learn the word 'No' so when he nips on your neck or ear start saying No in a stern voice and change his position. It wont take long.

Ok, got some pics but had a hard time with the lighting, so they aren't the greatest. First is House, who is a camera hog. House and Wilson in the 2nd, House in front. House about to attack the iphone in the 3rd.
Last is two boys enjoying their new home.House stepped up this morning and has been responding to the no when he bites, he seemed better today. Poor Wilson just never wants to get off my shoulder. I think he would sit on me all day if he could. When he gets back in the cage he pouts and sits in one place staring at me, while House plays. They aren't digging the fresh fruits and veggies yet. They love nutriberries though and millet. And maybe one day they will discover they are suppose to sleep in the hut, not on top of it.
